#NABJ – New Orleans Recap

So This past weekend I attended the annual National Black Assocation Of Black Journalists in New Orleans for the first time, and also for the first time I met R&B singer Marsha Ambrosius whom I actually was sitting next too while having lunch. So with that said you should see that this trip was one to put in the memory book. I was a bit nervous because it was my first time traveling by myself, and being in a setting with so many professionals and people from all over the U.S. Must I add the amount of nervousness immediately was gone after the first day. During my stay at the convention I attended many workshops that I could use to apply to my Journalism skills to become better and more skilled. ( I am a Broadcast Journalism Major in College) The event held at the Riverside Hilton Hotel had appearances  from President Obama’s VP Joe Biden, Melanie Fiona, Cedric the Entertainer, Spike Lee, professionals from CNN, ESPN, NBC, GOOGLE, Wall Street, and much much more!! Bourbon Street was a fun experience for the first time, and the food…..well gumbo, it would not make sense to spend time in NAWLEANS and not have gumbo. After I finished it ; BANGIN!!!! ALSO while in New Orleans on Bourbon if you haven’t had that feeling of being ON make sure you try hand grenade. One whole bottle will have you RIGHT! LOL………… I highly encourage all aspiring journalists and professionals too attend this convention in the future.  S/O to my mentors Micheal Feeney NY Daily News Reporter also President of the NABJ New York Chapter, Tony Anderson from BET. Also S/O to all the people I met from. Until then see you in Orlando next summer #NABJ13
